Everyone is familiar with regular foot spas, you put water in, they heat up and create some massaging bubbles.

But, there are some foot spas out there that go way beyond that.

In this review, we will be looking at one of the most high-end foot spas on the market, the Carepeutic Ozone Waterfall.

This foot spa is loaded with features, but is it worth the $150+ price tag?

We are going to determine just that in this comprehensive review. Let’s dig in.

Carepeutic Ozone Waterfall Product Description

The Carepeutic looks quite different from most other foot spas. Whereas other foot spas are relatively shallow and have open tops, the Carepeutic has a cover on the top and looks similar to a cooler. This cover acts as a lid that can be removed in two pieces, and also tilts upward to allow the user to put their feet inside. Built in to the cover are the digital device controls along with an LED screen.

Despite its unusual appearance on the outside, the inside of the Carepeutic looks similar to what you would find in most foot spas, with some subtle differences. It has two electronic massage rollers that extend across the width of the foot spa, allowing the user to get a nice massage on both feet simultaneously. You’ll also find two infrared lights and a removable herbal bag container for adding minerals to your water. There is also an attachment that allows the user to turn on water jets or a waterfall feature, a nice touch for a home foot spa.

How It Works

To use the Carepeutic, you fill it with water, turn on the heating function and let the spa heat the water. You will also want to add any salts or minerals to the herbal container at this point. Once the water is hot enough for you, you can put your feet in and start relaxing. If you want, you can at this stage start using the other functions on the Carepeutic, such as the massage rollers, the massaging bubbles, etc. The Carepeutic has a lot of functions, but it is very easy to use.

Features

  • Motorized water drainage which allows you to automatically drain the water from the foot spa with the press of a button.
  • Removable herbal bag attachment allows you to put in scented stones, which create soothing scents while you soak your feet.
  • Motorized massage rollers massage the soles and balls of your feet while you soak them.
  • Comes equipped with 2 infrared heaters and powerful water jets to create a relaxing mix of heat and bubbles.

Benefits of Using the Carepeutic Ozone Waterfall Foot Spa

There are a lot of benefits to using the Carepeutic because it is an absolutely great machine. For starters, the infrared heating element works quite well. It quickly heats up the water (even water that is ice cold!) and it keeps it warm for the entirety of the soak session.

The Carepeutic is also one of the few foot spas out there that comes with a dedicated aromatherapy attachment. Plenty of foot spas let you add scented oils or bath salts directly to the water, but they usually don’t have a dedicated attachment for it. The Carepeutic has a dedicated, detachable bag that you can fill with bath salts or scented stones. A nice touch!

The two massage rollers work and feel great on your feet. They are not too hard, but at the same time, they are just firm enough so that they have an actual impact. The rollers are placed so that they massage both the soles of your feet and the balls of your feet at the same time (depending on your foot size, of course). This lets you get both a massage and a relaxing soak in one session.

Another very nifty benefit that we need to mention is the automatic drainage function. If you have ever used a foot spa before, then you know that draining the foot spa can be a bit of a hassle. You have to pick up the foot spa without spilling any water and then carry it to the nearest sink. For some people, this is not an issue, but for others (such as the elderly, people with injuries, children, etc.) it can be a bit of an issue. Well, the automatic drainage function makes draining the foot spa easy. Just set up a bowl near the drain spout, click the drain button, and wait a few minutes while the foot spa automatically drains itself.

Finally, let’s talk about storing the foot spa. Because of the shape of the foot spa and because it has a nice little storage compartment that houses the power cord, it is extremely easy to find storage space for the Carepeutic. You can just stick it under your bed or in a closet and forget about it until you want to use it again. Plus, because of the cover on the top, you do not have to worry about it getting dusty.

Downsides of Using this Foot Spa

There are a couple of minor issues with this foot spa. First off, the motorized drainage function, while it works most of the time, can malfunction a bit. This leads to water becoming stuck in the machine. It is easy to fix, but it is still a very annoying problem. Another issue is the fact that the machine is rather bulky and it can be difficult for some people to carry around and set up. Again, these are minor issues, but they are things that are worth considering if you plan on getting the Carepeutic.

Customer Reviews

The Carepeutic, because of its high price, is not the most popular foot spa on Amazon. At the time of this post, it has just over 100 reviews. It has a good rating of 3.7 out of 5 stars. In general, customers praise the machine itself and the huge number of features that it has. However, many customers also complain about the drainage function malfunctioning and the fact that the unit is extremely expensive.

Who Should Get this Foot Spa?

Anyone who is looking for a top of the line foot spa and is not afraid to spend some money should definitely invest in the Carepeutic. However, if you are looking for a budget foot spa, then the Carepeutic is definitely not for you (in which case we would happily direct you to our favorite, the Ivation Foot Spa).

Conclusion

Overall, the Carepeutic Ozone Waterfall is probably the best foot spa on the market in terms of pure quality — but that quality doesn’t come cheap. This foot spa is in it’s own class when it comes to the high price tag. You would be hard-pressed to find another foot spa that does all the things that the Carepeutic does, but obviously that quality comes at a price.
